Is MOZART teaching MATH in your preschool?

MozartMath introduces the children in your class to math through the power of music at a young age. Music is known to stimulate creativity, accelerate learning, and enhance intelligence. The MozartMath program teaches children skills that easily transfer into other areas. This interdisciplinary approach has proven effective in teaching preschoolers difficult MATH CONCEPTS as well as MUSIC CONCEPTS. Give your students the advantage of early exposure to both math and music through the MozartMath program!

Because the MozartMath Learning Set includes 34 sequential LESSON PLANS coupled with activity pages and creative curriculum tools, the program is easy for teachers to use and enjoyable for children. The MusicBox CD, MusicBox Puzzle, and sand blocks are included in the kit.

Even teachers with limited musical background can effectively teach the lessons. A dialogue format is included in italics to help those teachers who have little musical training. The lessons consist of a variety of interactive activities such as singing, playing sand blocks, games, stories, and creative movement. The lessons are 10-15 minutes in length, and they are easily modified depending on classroom time restraints.

The program is organized so one lesson can be taught each week throughout the school year, or two lessons a week can be taught for half the school year. Most teachers set aside a 10-15 minute block of time on a particular day of the week as their MozartMath lesson time.

The MusicBox CD has several components, each with its own purpose. New information is introduced through creative new lyrics to familiar tunes while traditional children's songs reinforce concepts. Music appreciation is instilled as children experience Mozart, Beethoven, Bach, and other classical composers. All of the music required to teach the curriculum is included on the MusicBox CD. A music list of the composers and songs is included so parents may listen with their children at home.

The MusicBox Puzzle includes the essential pieces for children to create rhythm patterns and demonstrate understanding of both math and music concepts. The large, sturdy, easy to manipulate puzzle pieces are colorful and fun as well as practical. Each complete puzzle contains enough pieces for two children to use, so for a class of 10 students, 5 puzzles are needed.

Children love making music with the classical composers while playing sand blocks. This rhythm instrument gives the children a "hands-on" experience. The sand blocks are all wood with a natural finish and durable sand paper. One pair of sand blocks comes with the MozartMath Learning Set, and additional sand blocks can be purchased to complete a classroom set of one per child.
